Quality Care

Always check the care label.
Amancara accepts no responsibility for damage caused by failing to take proper care of items.

Cotton
Cotton products may be washed in a washing machine, using a delicate cycle. White items can be washed at a maximum of 60°C/140°F and coloured items should be washed at a maximum of 40° C/105°F. Items should be washed with delicate fabric detergent. All instructions can be found on the care label. Do not spin household linen too long or too strenuously. Cotton should be ironed while still damp. Choose the proper temperature, as indicated by the symbols on the care label. Some hair and skin care products contain oxidants that may affect colours. Make sure such products don't come into direct contact with pillowcases and bed sheets. Foods and beverage stains should also be avoided at all costs.

Linen
Linen should be cared for as cotton. See instructions above.

Silk
These fibres are best professionally cleaned, though they can be hand-washed in water with extreme care. If using a clothes washer, select a delicate cycle using cold water, or water at max. 30°C/85°F. Silk and wool require special care when drying and ironing. If the right equipment is not available, have them professionally cleaned. High temperatures and vigorous spinning can seriously damage products made from fibres such as these.

Cashmere/Cashmere-Silk
Cashmere can be hand-washed in cold water using special detergent suitable for cashmere only and must be dried flat. However, we recommend professional cleaning to ensure the long life of your item.

Leather/Cashmere Suede
Professional Dry-Cleaning only.

Furs
Professional Dry-Cleaning only.

Drying
Open each item and shake before hanging. Do not dry longer than necessary. When machine drying, never dry at high temperatures. If your dryer is adjustable, use the medium fan and spin speed. Remove laundry right away, iron it and fold it. Do not place coloured articles in direct sunlight. The sun makes whites seem shinier, but extended exposure may cause yellowing. Do not hang wool and delicate items vertically. After removing excess water, wrap woollen articles in a worn cotton bed sheet. Lay the sheet horizontally on a clotheshorse.

Shrinkage
All natural fibres shrink after being washed in water. The percentage of shrinkage varies from 3 to 10%. The amount of shrinkage depends on the fibre and on the washing temperature. The colder the wash water, the better it is for your household linen. Wool is particularly subject to shrinkage when washed.

Sort Your Laundry
Sort your household linen by fibre (cotton, linen, silk, wool), colour (whites, light colours, dark colours) and type of item (sheets, towels, tablecloths). Do not include items made of synthetic fibres. Also, do not include garments with components that could damage fabrics (zippers, hooks, metal parts, etc.)

Dry-Cleaning
Dry-cleaning is not recommended for our products, apart from Leather and Fur. We accept no responsibilty for damage caused by improper cleaning or incorrect care of garments.
